The entire Adventure Tested Products line uses state of the art metal manufacturing techniques.
Design
Our products are 3 dimensionally computer designed, modeled and stress tested. This allows us to identify the optimal geometry and materials for the intended application. Model testing allows us to develop an optimal strength to weight proportion.
Materials
We use the highest grade of material appropriate to the application. Where possible we purchase domestic steel from US suppliers.
Flat Parts
Flat parts are laser cut or water jet cut allowing design transfer accuracy and repeatability to within 0.010 to 0.030 of an inch (the thickness of a few sheets of paper). These types of production cutting leave a very high quality edge surface when compared to plasma cutting or shearing commonly used for single part fabrication. Flat cut parts are often formed or Bent to final 3D shape using CNC multi-axis hydraulic presses.
Tubular Parts
Tubular parts are cut and notched via 5 axis CNC laser or precision saw cut and machine notched. Tubular bending is preformed by hydraulic die forming or rotary draw bending.
Machined parts
Machined parts are produced via CNC Mill and/or Lath operations allowing accuracy to within 0.001 in.
Assembly and Welding
Final parts are assembled and welded in jig fixtures to assure optimal accuracy and repeatability. Welding processes include Mig (including push/pull and pulse), Tig (including pulsed and high frequency), arc and resistance welding, depending on the application.
Finishing and Inspection
Parts may be hand or machine finished. Each part undergoes a quality control inspection prior to powder coating or packaging.
